Listen To Shrek! An Ogre That Saved Princes Fiona Story (Audio)
Once Upon a Time…
In a distant swamp, there lived a large, green ogre named Shrek. He enjoyed his quiet life, living alone in his swamp, far away from people who were usually scared of him because of his appearance. Shrek liked his solitude and didn’t want anyone to disturb his peaceful life.
A Swamp Full of Fairy Tale Creatures
One day, Shrek’s peace was shattered when he discovered that his swamp had been overrun by fairy tale creatures. There were talking animals, dwarfs, and many other magical beings who had been banished from their homes by a mean lord named Lord Farquaad.
Shrek, who just wanted his swamp back to normal, set out to confront Lord Farquaad and get rid of the unwelcome guests. On his way, he met a talking donkey named Donkey, who insisted on becoming his companion. Although Shrek preferred to be alone, he allowed Donkey to tag along.
Meeting Lord Farquaad
Shrek and Donkey traveled to Lord Farquaad’s castle, where they found out that Farquaad was looking for someone brave to rescue a princess named Fiona. She was trapped in a tower guarded by a fierce dragon, and Farquaad wanted to marry her to become king.
Shrek made a deal with Lord Farquaad: if he rescued Princess Fiona, Farquaad would give him his swamp back. Farquaad agreed, and Shrek set off on the dangerous mission with Donkey by his side.
Rescuing Princess Fiona
Shrek and Donkey reached the tower and managed to outsmart the dragon, who turned out to be a female dragon that took a liking to Donkey. Shrek found Princess Fiona and rescued her from the tower, but there was a surprise, Fiona was not the typical damsel in distress. She was tough and independent, and she was shocked to learn that her rescuer was an ogre, not a prince.
On their journey back to Lord Farquaad, Shrek and Fiona started to bond. They discovered they had more in common than they initially thought, and Shrek began to develop feelings for Fiona, even though he believed she would never like someone like him.
Fiona’s Secret
As they traveled, Shrek and Fiona grew closer, but Fiona kept a secret from Shrek. Every night, when the sun went down, she would turn into an ogre herself. She had been cursed as a child, and only true love’s kiss could break the spell, turning her back into her human form permanently.
Fiona was worried about Shrek’s reaction if he found out the truth. Meanwhile, Shrek overheard Fiona talking to Donkey about how no one could love an ugly ogre, and he mistakenly thought she was referring to him. Hurt and angry, Shrek pushed Fiona away and hurried to deliver her to Lord Farquaad.
The Wedding and True Love’s Kiss
Shrek returned Fiona to Lord Farquaad, who immediately arranged for their wedding. However, Donkey helped Shrek realize that Fiona actually had feelings for him too. Determined to stop the wedding, Shrek rushed back to the castle with Donkey and the dragon’s help.
At the wedding, just before Fiona and Lord Farquaad could say “I do,” Shrek burst in and confessed his love for Fiona. As the sun set, Fiona transformed into an ogre in front of everyone, revealing her secret.
Lord Farquaad was horrified and tried to take Fiona as his prisoner, but Shrek and Donkey’s dragon friend stopped him. Fiona and Shrek finally shared a true love’s kiss, breaking her curse. But instead of turning back into a human, Fiona remained an ogre. She realized that this was her true self, and she was happy to be with someone who loved her for who she really was.
Happily Ever After
Shrek and Fiona returned to the swamp, where they started their new life together. Shrek was no longer alone, and he found that life was much better when shared with someone who truly loved and understood him. Even Donkey became a close friend, and they all lived happily ever after.
