🌍 A Question About Knowledge
One day, Prophet Moosa (AS) was teaching his people.
Someone asked him, “Who is the most knowledgeable person?”
Moosa (AS) was a great Prophet and Allah had given him much knowledge. But Allah wanted to teach him something important.
Allah told Moosa (AS) that there was a servant of His who had special knowledge — a man named Al-Khidr.
Moosa (AS) decided to travel and learn from him.
He set out on a long journey with a young helper, determined to find this wise man.
🤝 The Promise of Patience
After traveling far, Moosa (AS) finally met Al-Khidr.
Moosa (AS) politely said,
“May I follow you so you can teach me from what Allah has taught you?”
Al-Khidr replied,
“You will not be able to have patience with me.”
But Moosa (AS) promised,
“InshaAllah, you will find me patient.”
Al-Khidr agreed — but he gave one condition:
“Do not ask me about anything until I explain it to you.”
Moosa (AS) agreed.
🚤 The Boat
They boarded a small boat that belonged to poor fishermen.
While they were on the boat, Al-Khidr made a hole in it!
Moosa (AS) was surprised and upset.
“Why did you damage it? The people were kind to us!” he said.
Al-Khidr gently reminded him,
“Did I not say you would not be patient?”
Moosa (AS) quickly apologized and promised not to question again.
👦 The Boy
Later, they met a young boy.
Al-Khidr did something that deeply confused Moosa (AS).
Moosa (AS) spoke again without waiting.
“This is something very serious!”
Al-Khidr reminded him once more about patience.
Moosa (AS) felt sorry and promised again to stay patient.
🏚️ The Wall
Finally, they arrived in a town where the people refused to give them food or help.
Even though the people were unkind, Al-Khidr repaired a broken wall in the town without asking for payment.
Moosa (AS) could not understand.
“If you wished, you could have taken a reward,” he said.
Al-Khidr replied,
“This is the time for us to part.”
🌟 The Hidden Wisdom
Before leaving, Al-Khidr explained everything.
The boat belonged to poor fishermen. A cruel king was taking every good boat by force. By damaging it slightly, the boat was saved.
The boy would have grown up to bring great difficulty to his believing parents. Allah planned to give them a better child instead.
The wall belonged to two orphan boys. Under the wall was a treasure left by their righteous father. If the wall had fallen, the treasure would have been lost. Repairing it protected their future.
Moosa (AS) then understood.
Sometimes we do not understand Allah’s wisdom right away.
But Allah always knows what is best.
