A Spooky Halloween Night
It was Halloween night, and the air was filled with excitement. Kids were out trick-or-treating, dressed in their scariest costumes. Max and Lily, two best friends, were having a blast collecting as much candy as they could. “Let’s see who gets the most candy!” Max said, his eyes shining with determination.
The Mysterious Old House
As they went from house to house, they came across an old, creepy-looking mansion at the end of the street. It was decorated with cobwebs and had flickering lights. “I dare you to knock on that door,” Lily challenged Max. Feeling brave, Max agreed and walked up the creaky steps. He knocked on the old wooden door, and it slowly creaked open.
The Candy Bowl
Inside the dimly lit foyer, they saw a giant bowl of candy sitting on a table. A note next to the bowl read, “Take as much as you want, but beware of taking too much.” Max’s eyes widened at the sight of the overflowing candy bowl. “Free candy? Don’t mind if I do!” he exclaimed as he filled his bag with handfuls of sweets. Lily hesitated, remembering the warning, and only took a few pieces.
The Strange Feeling
As soon as they left the mansion, Max began to feel strange. His stomach hurt, and he suddenly felt a little dizzy. “Maybe I ate too much candy,” he said, clutching his belly. But as the night went on, Max noticed something even stranger. The more candy he ate, the heavier his bag got, as if it was refilling itself!
The Candy’s Curse
Max’s bag grew so heavy that he could barely carry it. “What’s going on?” he wondered aloud. The candy inside had a life of its own! The wrappers started moving and rustling, and the sweets began to grow bigger. Some candies even sprouted tiny legs and crawled out of the bag!
Lily’s Quick Thinking
Seeing Max’s distress, Lily quickly sprang into action. She remembered the warning on the note and figured out that they had to return the candy to the mansion to break the curse. “Come on, Max! We need to take the candy back!” she shouted.
The Candy Returns
Together, they rushed back to the creepy mansion and placed all the candy back in the bowl. As soon as they did, the strange feelings disappeared, and the candies stopped moving. The door of the mansion slammed shut, and the flickering lights went out. Max and Lily ran back home, grateful that the scary adventure was over.
Happily Ever After
Max learned his lesson that night—too much of anything, even candy, isn’t always good. From then on, he and Lily enjoyed their Halloween treats in moderation, always remembering the spooky adventure at the old mansion.
